On Saturday, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar released a video aimed at the citizens of Bihar, reflecting on his tenure since being elected for the first time in 2005. He emphasized that he has served the people with "integrity and hard work."
The leader of the Janata Dal (United) stated, "Regardless of whether you are Hindu, Muslim, upper caste, backward, extremely backward, Dalit, or Mahadalit, we have worked for everyone. We have not done anything for our own families."
Kumar Requests 'One More Chance'
In his video message shared on X (formerly Twitter), Kumar urged the public to grant him 'one more chance' and encouraged them to vote for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the upcoming assembly elections. He asserted that only the NDA can drive the state's development forward, highlighting the accelerated pace of progress during his administration.
Call for Victory of NDA Candidates
Voting for the assembly elections in Bihar will take place in two phases on November 6 and 11, with results expected to be announced on November 14. Kumar appealed, "I request you to ensure the victory of NDA candidates in this assembly election. Give us, the NDA, another chance. After that, we will work towards making Bihar one of the top states in the country."
Critique of Previous Government
In his address, Kumar also criticized the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), recalling that when he assumed office in 2005, Bihar was in dire straits. He noted that at that time, being identified as a Bihari was seen as a disgrace. He pledged to work tirelessly for the state's development with "complete honesty and dedication."
Focus on Education and Empowerment
The JD(U) leader highlighted his government's efforts in enhancing education, healthcare, infrastructure, and employment opportunities for the youth. He asserted that his administration has worked for all sections of society, including Dalits and backward classes. He proudly stated that being a Bihari is now a matter of pride rather than shame.
Kumar remarked, "The previous government did nothing for women. We have empowered women to the extent that they are no longer dependent on anyone and can manage everything for their families and children. We want to emphasize that we have consistently focused on the development of all societal segments."
